Josh Scott, son of Allan Scott, and winemaker at Allan Scott Wines, is also the man behind the Moa Brewing Company

It is possibly a little known fact that good wine is made with good beer. After a long hard day harvesting grapes and making wine there is nothing more welcome to winemakers around the world than a well crafted and refreshing beer which discovered while working a vintage in the Napa Valley.

Hence in 2003 the Moa Brewing Company was born, and Josh has used some of his winemaking techniques to make his beers. With a Micro brewery located across the road from the winery, Moa now produces a wide range of unique beers from the incomparable Moa Original, to the powerful St Joseph’s Tripel, from the mocha notes of the Moa Noir to the very popular Weka

Tracking Moa to its lair is no longer only for the intrepid. Now the Moa hunter can enjoy the full range of Moa beers as well as a selection of fine wines at the Bar Moa, a gentlemanly establishment located at the Moa Brewery (though ladies are, of course, most welcome!) Enjoy a tutored tasting or sip a leisurely beer (or wine) in their lovely leather armchairs. Open daily in summer from 10am until late, with reduced hours in winter
